FAQS

If you’re grieving a loss, navigating a major life transition, or feeling weighed down by anxiety or depression, you may be wondering if therapy could truly help.
From the moment we’re born, our brains are wired for connection. Our earliest relationships shape how we see ourselves and how we learn to cope. When support is missing, we often adapt in ways that help us survive — but later, those patterns may leave us feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck.
Therapy offers a safe and nurturing space to explore this “blueprint.” Together, we can uncover how your past experiences shape your present, gently shift coping strategies that no longer serve you, and move toward a more grounded, fulfilling life.

I operate as an out-of-network provider. While I don’t bill insurance directly, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit for possible reimbursement.
You’ll pay my full fee at the time of service, and reimbursement is not guaranteed — so I encourage you to call your insurance provider in advance. I’m happy to give you a list of helpful questions to ask them.
As a private-pay provider, I can focus on you and your care (rather than insurance requirements or labels). Many clients find this allows for more personalized and effective therapy.

Paying privately gives you freedom and privacy:
You can choose the therapist who feels right for you, not just who’s in-network.
You avoid having a mandatory diagnosis attached to your permanent health record.
You won’t face limits on the number or type of sessions covered.
Ultimately, paying out of pocket means we can tailor therapy to your needs, not to insurance company rules.

💡 In addition to weekly therapy, I offer therapy intensives for clients who want deeper, concentrated support. These immersive sessions create space for powerful shifts in a shorter amount of time. If you’re interested, ask me about this option during a consultation.
Sliding Scale: I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee spots based on income. Clients earning under $80,000 annually may qualify. Please reach out if cost is a concern — I don’t want finances to be the only barrier to care.

Yes. What we discuss in therapy stays private, with a few legal exceptions:
If you plan to harm yourself or someone else
If you disclose abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult
If required by a court order
I may also consult with other clinicians to strengthen my clinical skills, but I never use identifying details.
-
The length of therapy depends on your goals. Some clients come short-term to work through a specific issue, while others choose longer-term therapy for deeper healing and personal growth.
We’ll check in regularly about your goals and progress to make sure therapy feels meaningful and supportive.
-
Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions across Washington state. Many clients find virtual sessions just as effective as in-person, with added convenience and flexibility.
I also provide in-person therapy in Renton, WA. Please note that twice a year I work remotely for two three-week stretches, during which even my in-person clients meet with me online.
📅 Whether you’re in Renton, Seattle, or elsewhere in Washington, schedule a free consult to explore online or in-person therapy.

Finding the right fit is important. I encourage clients to try 2–3 sessions to see if the relationship feels right. Ask yourself:
Do I feel comfortable and understood here?
Do I feel like my therapist is listening with care?
Do I feel supported in exploring the issues that matter most?
If not, that’s okay — the most important thing is finding someone who feels like the right match for you.
-
Our first session will include a gentle intake process where we’ll talk about your history, what’s bringing you to therapy, and your hopes for change. This helps us build a strong foundation so you feel supported from the start.
