Do You Have Trouble Putting Yourself First?

a path in the forest

Have you been prioritizing other people for so long that you’ve forgotten how to care for yourself? Does it feel like you’re giving too much while receiving little in return? Are you struggling with:

  • Life transitions that have knocked you off balance?

  • A constant drive to achieve more, even if you’re stretched thin?

  • The feeling that you’re never “enough?”

It may seem that each chapter of life just brings new challenges. Perhaps you’re facing infertility, parenting struggles, unresolved grief, body image issues, or burnout while managing work and family responsibilities.

No matter how hard you push yourself, you feel like you should still strive for more, whether it’s a better house, job, or even social media presence. The pressure to be “perfect” might even be taking a toll on your relationships.

When You’re Stretched Thin, Relationships Can Feel Like A Burden

Maybe you’ve been withdrawing from your friends, bickering with your family, arguing with your partner, or getting into disagreements at work. When you’re stuck in an emotional rut, it’s hard to show up in relationships with compassion and empathy.

You’re tired of feeling anxious and depressed, and you’re longing for relief and real, sincere joy—but hope seems elusive. You don’t have to keep pushing forward on your own. If you feel like something is missing, therapy for women can help you tap into your own desires, foster healthier relationships, and create more space in your life for the pursuits that bring you joy.

Many Women Struggle To Balance Endless Competing Demands

Countless women juggle the demands of caring for their families, working, and contributing to their communities. Our culture pressures women to handle these responsibilities flawlessly without asking for help—all while maintaining a top-notch appearance, keeping their homes clean, and even sharing a perfectly curated life on social media.

As the years go on, shifting cultural expectations can leave women questioning who they are and what they want. Younger women might be navigating parenting, infertility, or issues with intimacy in romantic relationships. On the other hand, older women are adjusting to empty nests, caregiving, and hormonal changes, and accepting the inevitable losses that come later in life.

Through Therapy, I Help Women Reconnect With Their Authenticity

Starting therapy can seem daunting, but you deserve the opportunity to live a fuller, more meaningful life. When you begin therapy, I’ll open up space for you to share what you’ve been struggling with. Whether you’ve been dealing with intense anxiety at work, conflicts in relationships, unprocessed grief, or a lack of purpose, we’ll eventually move beyond the presenting symptoms to identify what’s really holding you back.

Lots of women unconsciously define their own worth by how well they care for others. But in the long run, endless sacrifices can leave women feeling short-changed and cheated. A woman who has always been devoted to helping others might be proud of her kind and caring nature, yet she might have very little time for herself.

With therapy, women can find balance, allowing you to prioritize your own needs and goals without neglecting your relationships. If you feel like you’ve been hiding behind a mask for too long, women’s counseling can help you get in touch with who you really are. I’m ready to support you in this journey, no matter where you are in life.

Lifespan Integration Can Help You Stay Grounded In The Present

In my work with women, I emphasize a form of therapy called Lifespan Integration (LI) therapy, a gentle, somatic approach that taps into your body’s innate wisdom and supports trauma healing. With LI, you can gradually build up your core strength while honing your emotional regulation skills. I’ll guide you through protocols to help you repair attachment wounds, heal unresolved trauma, and fully integrate your life experiences, creating new pathways for emotional resilience.

Upon starting therapy, many women struggle with reactivity in relationships. Sometimes, conflicts and minor disagreements in the present can trigger past fears and old wounds.

LI can change your ingrained responses and outdated defense mechanisms. By connecting the patterns that no longer serve you with memories of past events, you can “rewire” your system so that you’re able to move beyond these unpleasant emotions and stay centered in the present day.

As author Aundi Kolber says, “There are truly times when the best, healthiest, most productive thing we can do is not to try harder, but rather to try softer: to compassionately listen to our needs so we can move through pain—and ultimately life—with more gentleness and resilience.” This principle guides my approach to therapy for women. In women’s counseling, you can gain clarity, self-esteem, and inner strength, changing the way you respond to challenges and deepening your capacity to honor your own needs.

What To Expect In Counseling For Women

We often assume that we need to adjust our thoughts or control our emotions to change our behavior. However, our reactions, emotions, and defenses are often connected to unconscious beliefs that developed as a result of early experiences. Together, we’ll go beneath the surface to heal your nervous system so that you can find genuine, lasting relief.

Over time, we’ll work together to shift your unconscious beliefs and defenses by targeting the roots of your anxiety, stress, and fear—and with these shifts, you’ll naturally expand your awareness. Chances are, you’ll start feeling lighter and more liberated from the pressures that once defined your life.

But You May Still Have Questions About Women’s Therapy…

My schedule is so busyI’m not sure I’ll be able to attend sessions consistently.

As a therapist, I understand that women’s lives can be incredibly hectic, and it can feel overwhelming to add another commitment to your schedule. However, I believe that prioritizing self-care and your mental health is crucial, especially during busy times. Having a space where you’re able to exclusively focus on your needs can make a remarkable difference. You have the power to shift your perspective, cultivate balance, and face challenges with resilience.

Can you really understand my unique background and experiences?

I’m committed to providing the best care possible, and I have extensive experience working with a variety of complex issues and concerns. While I may not have faced your specific challenges personally, my background provides me with a solid understanding of the underlying issues and effective therapeutic strategies that can lead to transformative results. I also regularly consult with other professionals to enhance my clinical skills and ensure that I am providing optimal support to my clients.

What if I become reliant on therapy?

It's understandable to have concerns about becoming too reliant on therapeutic support. My goal is to empower you, expand your skills, and deepen your insights, enabling you to navigate challenges independently. When you start feeling more connected and authentic and experience relief from the symptoms that brought you in, you’ll likely feel less reliant on therapy. That shift happens organically, and we can start meeting less frequently when it does.
