Life Transitions Therapy
Are You Struggling With a Major Life Change?
Maybe you’re facing a career change, the end of a relationship, or a new health diagnosis. Perhaps you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, a marriage, or a job. Even positive events like marriage, having a child, or relocating can feel overwhelming.
Whatever you’re navigating, life transitions often stir up stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. It can feel like the ground beneath you has shifted, leaving you disoriented, paralyzed, or unsure of how to move forward.
The truth is: you don’t have to go through this alone.
Why Life Transitions Feel So Hard
Change — even when it leads somewhere good — disrupts what’s familiar. The ways you’ve learned to cope may have worked in the past, but now they can leave you feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Even areas of life that once felt steady can suddenly feel shaky.
You might notice yourself:
Pulling away from friends or loved ones
Throwing yourself into work or distractions to avoid the pain
Feeling constantly on edge, anxious, or exhausted
Pressure from family, friends, or even your own expectations can make things worse, leaving you feeling judged, isolated, or “behind.” And when transitions are rooted in grief or loss, the pain can feel unbearable.
Life transitions therapy can help you regain balance, shift out of survival mode, and begin moving toward clarity, confidence, and peace.
How Life Transitions Therapy Helps
Life transitions counseling gives you space to slow down, process what’s happening, and notice how it’s affecting you — emotionally, mentally, and physically.
In our work together, you can:
Reduce stress and anxiety while learning healthier ways to cope
Process the grief and emotions that come with change
Reconnect with your values and sense of self
Gain clarity and confidence in decision-making
Find hope again when the future feels uncertain
You don’t have to just “push through.” Life transitions therapy offers a space to reflect, reset, and rebuild.
Whether you’re navigating a divorce and need divorce counseling, going through a breakup and seeking breakup counseling, adjusting to a new career with career change counseling, or facing the challenges of chronic illness, support can make all the difference in helping these transitions feel more manageable.
My Approach: Lifespan Integration (LI) Therapy
I primarily use Lifespan Integration (LI) therapy — a gentle, body-based method that works at the nervous system level to help you integrate past experiences with your present challenges.
Lifespan integration (LI) therapy can reduce anxiety quickly while also creating long-term healing by rewiring outdated defenses that keep you stuck. Unlike some talk therapies, LI doesn’t require reliving painful events in detail. Instead, it allows your mind and body to process memories in a safe and integrative way, helping you feel calmer, more resilient, and more able to face what’s ahead.
At times, I also draw from talk therapy and mindfulness strategies to give you practical tools for grounding and navigating change.
You May Still Have Some Concerns About Life Transitions Therapy…
What if I need medication?
You’ll always have the choice in your care. While I don’t prescribe medication, I can support you in exploring your feelings about it and, if you choose, connect you with a psychiatric ARNP in our building for an assessment.
What if others judge me for seeing a life transitions therapist?
Seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Still, fear of judgment often comes from past experiences of not being supported or understood. Together, we can address those fears while giving you a safe space to share openly.
What if therapy hasn’t worked for me in the past?
That’s a real concern. Every therapist and approach is different. With lifespan integration (LI) therapy, many clients feel relief early on — and lasting changes as their nervous system rewires over time.
